Above Ground Pool Liners-Various Types

If you are living on a budget, above ground pools are godsend. Likewise, if you don't want your backyard dug up, above ground pools are the best option. Similarly, such pools are easier to install than other types of swimming pools.

On the other hand, despite all the advantages that above ground pools have, still you cannot enjoy any of these pools if the pool liners that you are using are not durable. Above ground pool liners are the most abused part of the above ground pools; thus, it is advisable that you should use pool liners, which are durable enough to help extend the lifespan of the above ground pools and prevent the water from leaking out. However, you should not forget that such pool liners are not designed to support the weight of the water. It is the main pool structure that keeps the above ground pools intact.

Various Types of Above Ground Pool Liners

There are various types of above the ground pool liners on the market today, and each of them is designed for different purposes. Moreover, they come in varied patterns, gauges and prices. Some of these pool liners are the following.

Beaded Liners

One of the types of above ground pool liners is the beaded liner. These liners differ from other liners through the ways, in which they are attached. Also, these liners go up the wall of the pool and snap into a track with the use of the bead or welts that run along the entire edge and the top of the wall of the pool. Furthermore, such pool liners are equipped with true bead on the end which will hook up with the bead receiver on the wall of the pool.

Overlap Liners

These liners go up over the edges of the pool, then hang over the side. If you are a practical buyer, these liners will is godsend for you because they are cheaper compared to other types of pool liners. Moreover, because these liners are installed using plastic strips, repairing them is never a problem.

Unibead Liners

Another type of pool liners is the unibead liners. These liners are quite akin with the overlap liners. However, unlike the overlap liners, they have several functions. You can either attach them like the overlap liners or like the beaded liners.

Expandable Liners

Among the type of pool liners is the expandable liners. In contrast with the three liners, these pool liners are tall liners that are designed to accommodate additional vinyl for the deeper swimming area of the pool. Moreover, these liners are best used with oval pools.

These are the types of above ground pool liners. Now, let us move on to the installation of these liners.

How Are The Pool Liners Installed

Installing above ground pool liners is not hard. Even though there are various kinds of pool liners, they only differ on how they are installed. For overlap liners, you can clap them down on the side of the pools, while for the beaded liners, you can attach them on the track at the sides of the pools.

Lay the liners on the middle of the pool and check them for rips and tears before you install them. Similarly, make sure that there are no reams and openings on the liners. Then, grab the edges of the liners towards the pool walls. Make sure that the seams line up with the sides of the pool where the pool wall and pool floor meet. Likewise, check that the liners touch the floor, and there should be no air between the liner and the floor, wall and mounds. In addition, if there are any wrinkles, smooth them out with the use of soft brooms. In case there are there are small wrinkles, just leave them because they will be stretched once the pool will be operational. On the other hand, if there are large and overlapping wrinkles, you should remove them. After that, secure the liners on the side of the pool, and check for leaks and openings on the liners.
