Spa Covers: Servicing, Providers, and All That Jazz

By Mariane Alvas

So, you're considering buying spa covers...but you don't really see the purpose in doing so. Maybe they're good for something...but what? These are something that you should keep in mind if you want to invest in a good spa cover. First and foremost, the cover prevents heat from your spa tub from dissipating. If you set the tub at a temperature, you want to retain the heat to save energy costs. Either way, you'll want to make sure that you get a decent spa cover with a long-term warranty of at least two years, if you can possibly manage it.

Searching for the Perfect Manufacturer

The internet is a good source of spa cover manufacturers. Although prices tend to be steeper, it is worth to try purchasing from a good manufacturer with a website. Prices on the internet are sometimes even better than the ones you'll find in brick and mortar stores. Of course, you want to look for the perfect manufacturer who will be able to give you a great price and an equally perfect service and warranty for your cover You will not be fooled into buying an expensive spa cover for nothing if you know what you are looking for in a tub cover or even in a manufacturer.

Looking for the Perfect Cover

The choice of your spa tub cover will depend on the location and position of your tub in the house, whether it is and indoor- or an outdoor tub. Indoor tubs must still be protected with light-duty spa covers to still prevent things and even little people from falling into the tub. Naturally, these covers are less sturdy than those found outside the house. You don't need anything too heavy indoors, after all.

Making your Spa Cover Last Longer

Ask your manufacturer to know what cleaners and detergents are best for your spa cover. You want something that, at the very least, takes care of mildew. A popular apothecary for treating mildew is dilution of lemon juice or vinegar with water, but of course a good safe chemical will do the trick more efficiently.

The Perfect Cover for Your Tub First, your cover must perfectly fit your tub. This means that you should measure correctly or seek the help of an agent from your manufacturer to measure your tub...but it's much better than not having the right proportions prior to deciding to check into it. You also need heavy duty marine grade vinyl as well. This will make sure that your spa stays safe, clean, and at the perfect temperature. There are lots of types of covers that you can choose from-but, keep in mind that you should do additional research on each of them! Your spa covers manufacturers won't tell you everything, simply because there's a lot to tell! So, make sure that you're as best informed as you possibly can be. It will help you in the long run!
