Christmas Shopping For Teens

By Rachel Wood

How do you decide what Christmas present your teenager will desire, like, and appreciate?

Whether your teen still overtly loves Xmas or if they protest that they would rather just be with friends, the Christmas gift that you purchase for your teenager is one of the hardest to choose. Gone are the times of Christmas gifts consisting of toys and games they're wanting something a bit more individual and special this Christmas.

Everyone knows that buying a fascinating Xmas gift for your teenager that's both fitting and satisfying is a very difficult task. They change their minds more frequently than their socks so it is very hard to know what would make the ideal Xmas gift for your teen. They spend all of their time relaxing with their chums, girlfriends/boyfriends and very busy creating their own identity, that is a great deal to do considering that they are not very likely to rise before lunch!! The Christmas gifts you bought last year are probably gone, broken, thrown beneath the bed or buried in a drawer somewhere.

The teen years are an awkward age to be at and Xmas gift buying for a teen can frequently appear just as awkward, as they are one of the hardest groups to buy Xmas gifts for. One minute they are pining for the most recent video game and new trainers or Candy Floss Maker and the new hottest make up collection and then before you know it they are only interested in the newest widget

Here are my fail safe Xmas present ideas for teens.

1. Gift cards/Pre Paid Credit Card - These are very good as it allows them to simply buy what they want. Most major shops offer gift cards or failing that a pre paid debit card loaded with your chosen amount will allow them to spend it on virtually anything.

2. Smartphone - Everybody likes to get a new phone and youths like to keep up with the newest trends!

3. Magazine Subscription - Regardless of what your teen is into there's such an array of magazines that there is bound to one to suit them!

4. Laptop - This is a winner for you both, it stops them using your laptop and gives them no reason to not do their homework! Keep your ears and eyes open, listen extremely punctiliously to what hints they are dropping. Write down the things they mention that they desire. Or you might just ask your teenager what they'd like for their Yuletide gift, be warned though, they may suggest a new car or something equally impossible!! Or maybe you'll get the usual response of 'IĆ¢€™m not bothered. '.
